I've always been drawn to the water, sneaking away to swim in the hidden cove. I know the dangers, but the water calls to me, its song luring me into the depths.
All my life I've been home by dark, but just once I want to swim in the moonlight. The vampires haven't come to our isle in years anyway, it's a stupid precaution to stay inside.

Blood Sea is part one of a serial that centers around Azula, and what a name that is. She and her father live on an island, never going out at night nor near the water. With her best friend James, she ventures out one night to swim in the ocean. Little did she know that this small act of defiance would change her life forever. Tragedy strikes, and Azula is taken. She thought it was vampirates who took her, but when her ship is attacked the real Vampirates board. Singled out by the captain Sebastian, who realizes what she is, he takes her in to protect her. Thus begins her journey on discovery, what is she? With danger all around, Azula has to rely on her strength and will to make it through. She wants to make it back to her home, and James, settle down and be safe. But life has a different plan for her.
I really enjoyed Azula as a character. She is strong and determined and willing to do what it takes to return home and to James. And James, my heart breaks for him. He loves her so much, and is willing to follow her to the ends of the earth. Sebastian, oh man, he is hiding secrets that I want to know about. That ending will leave you going What just happened?!!!!! Well done CeCe, I cannot wait to see how everything plays out.
