It's a...Reverse Harem
Some secrets refuse to remain buried... The winged messiahs who rule the district beyond the pearly gates have given humanity a choice: live outside with the threat of being warped by magic, or petition for entry at the cost of their free will. The deal sucks for others, but its fine by Serenity Harker, because outside no one can discover her secret hunger. Outside, Serenity can go on pretending she has control. But one slip is all it takes for her carefully crafted facade to unravel. Exiled to Midnight, the district of moonlight and monsters, her hunger finally has a name. Here Nephilim Protectorate are the only line of defence between humans and dangerous magic. The protectorate males want to help her fit in, but their terrifying, charismatic leader refuses to let her off the leash. Just when it feels like she’s banging her head against pectorals of steel, a chance to prove her worth leads to a case that will test the limits of her control. The stakes are raised, and the nightmare begins. It looks like she may have to do the unthinkable. She may have to lose control.
A Kick-ass Urban Fantasy with a slow burn reverse harem romance.
Champion of Midnight
When you hit rock bottom, the only way left is up. The Sanguinata are taking liberties and using humans like personal blood bags, but the tip is in the fine print, and the humans signing on the dotted line may as well be serving themselves up like cartons of juice. But when a woman under Sanguinata protection implores Serenity Harker for help, even the delicate balance of Midnight won’t stop Harker from making a bargain that will put her life on the line. Before she knows it, Harker has volunteered to compete in the House Games—a test of survival where lupin go up against sanguinata. The terms are simple: if she wins the humans go free. On top of preparing for the games, Harker must work her first active case. But the excitement of leading the investigation is soon tarnished by a heart breaking loss. Bereft and broken and left to pick up the pieces, Harker must resist the temptation to fall apart if she is to liberate the humans from Sanguinata clutches. As the house games approach, will Harker live up to her pledge as champion of humanity and give them back their free will, or will this fight prove to be her!

Chronicles of Midnight Series:
Protector of Midnight
Champion of Midnight
Secrets of Midnight ( April 5)
Shades of Midnight ( May 17)
I just happened upon this series and I have to say I am so happy for it! I freaking love this world that Debbie has created. Hooked me form the first chapter and I didn’t stop until I finished book two. It’s that good! The characters are so engaging and I found myself having to find out what will happen next.
Protector of Midnight
The sunlight and Midnight regions are so different. Serenity lives in the sunlight and works as a cop for sunset. As the only line of defense against things that go bump in the night, they keep humans safe. But Serenity Harker has a secret that no one knows. She is something other. When an assignment goes wrong and she is exposed, she ends up in the Midnight district. Where even bigger and worse things go bump in the night. There she comes to understand her powers, forge friendships and maybe alittle more. The boss keeps her on a tight leash. He is just as stubborn as she is. Can she truly unleash and finally be able to be herself, or will the even bigger monsters in Midnight be the ones to get her.
Champion of Midnight
The Sanguinata are using humans as blood bags, however they are walking a fine line. For humans who do not read the fine print, it can be worse. When a woman asks Serenity for help, she can't help but say yes. Not knowing what she has agreed to, she is entered into the deadly house games. If she wins, all the humans who wish to leave can, if not she looses her life. But she is willing to take that risk. Factor in that she is training, she has also been given a new case. But things are not what they seem. Can Serenity live up to being humanity's champion? Or will an imaginable loss prove to be her undoing?
There is so much that happens in both books. Both are action packed and will have you cracking up at all of the snarky comments and the banter back and forth between the characters. The guys are all hot in their own ways, and are good for Serenity. Both of these will have you feeling all kinds of emotions from, anger, heartache, love, excitement and envy. I need me a Bane. Overall this is a great series that I would definitely recommend for any urban fantasy reader. Add in the slow burn Rh and this is a winner!!!
