It's a...Reverse Harem
Keeper of the Pages:
Ever wish a book boyfriend could come alive? For Avi, this becomes a surprising reality. When the two men she’s always wanted to meet, a fictional shifter and a half-demon pirate, suddenly appear in her bedroom, she faces a huge dilemma. She’s a Keeper - responsible for keeping characters and creatures in their books, not letting them out! When the Literary Guild sends a hot, arrogant Bard to enforce the rules, it only makes matters more difficult. Avi has more to hide than her handsome book characters, and the Guild’s involvement could ruin everything… Will the Bard become an enemy or an ally? Will she need to send Devlin and Ramsay back into their books? They soon find that this is just the beginning of a bigger mystery, one that includes Avi and all the secrets she was sworn to hide. Can they work together in order to survive and save the Real world from another Grimm Time?
Druid of the Realms:
Avi is a Keeper. She's supposed to keep the characters in their books where they belong. But her favorite book boyfriends have escaped, and she doesn't want to send them back. There are more important things happening in the Realms of books, though. Other, evil characters are escaping and someone is trying to lure Avi into the Realms. When the tiger shifter, Devlin, is kidnapped back into the Realms, Avi knows it's a trap. She doesn't have a choice, though. In order to save him, she'll have to enter the mysterious place where all the books live. Together, the Keeper, the Bard, and the half-demon will navigate the amazing wonders of the book Realms and face the secrets of Avi's real identity. Will she be able to leave the Realms once she's entered and learned the truth of her parentage? Will Ward put aside his oaths to the Literary Guild to help her and Ramsay? Can they find their happy ever after?
**This is a slow-medium burn, paranormal romance that doesn't take itself too seriously. There are attempts at humor, a reluctant heroine who swears too much, and a happy ever after ending. Scenes and language intended for mature audiences. This is the second and final book in the Written Realms duology about Avi and her companions (Previously named Between the Realms) The leading lady does not choose between her three loves. #polyam #whychoose**
This is such an interesting concept for a series that I think we can all relate to. How many of us have book boyfriends? How many of us wish we could spend time with them in real life? I mean, not necessarily forever but if you could meet them for even five minutes, would you pass that up?
The first book in the series was previously called Between the Pages and is now Keeper of the Pages. In it we are introduced to Avi. She's a Keeper. Basically she lives in a bookstore and keeps the characters from crossing from the Realms into the Real. Seems simple enough since she's been doing it her whole life right? Well, one little mishap and now the Literary Guild has sent someone to check on her and he is all business. Not good timing when her two book boyfriends show up in the Real. She's spent so much time reading about them she feels a connection that won't let her send them back. Good thing she temporarily needs their help. Unfortunately, the all business Bard is all up in HER business and she's got secrets to hide. Can they solve the mysteries unfolding in the Real while she keeps her secrets to herself?
The second book picks up right where the first one left off. One battle has been won but Avi has been hurt. Ward takes her to an unlikely source for help. They have started to learn a few things about what's been going on but things really ramp up when Devlin gets taken back to the Realms. They know it's a trap. What choice do they have but to go after him though? With so many secrets coming to light in Avi's life, she is finding it hard to trust anyone. This may cause problems for her in the Realms. Because the secrets and lies, they just keep coming.
You know how you see a book, you know you want to read it, but life is happening and you've had all these other books on this list and so you just keep passing that one book by? Well that is what happened to me with the first book in this series. It was on my TBR, it just kept getting pushed back. Once I started reading it though, I couldn't stop. I was so glad that I could continue right on into book two because I was that invested in the story.
Not only do we have an interesting concept, we also have characters that we can't help but to be drawn to. Avi has her secrets and yet so much she doesn't know about herself yet. It keeps her distant but yet, she's still so loveable. Ward comes across as such a stick in the mud but he has his reasons for being that way as well. Once you peel back the layers, he's a genuine sweetheart. Devlin and Ramsay are your romance book leading men come to life so of course you are going to love them. With so many twists and secrets you can't help but be intrigued. I also love the small details you get in how the Realms are born and their world works.
I thoroughly enjoyed this series and I definitely recommend you read them. I could have read even more about Avi and the guys but it was a nice, happy ending. Another different and refreshing RH to stand out amount the rest.
