It's a...Reverse Harem
Don't go outside.
Stay away from your windows.
Don't look the witches in the eye.
Once a year, the bridge between the living and the dead is opened and witches compete in The Deadly Games for a chance to speak with those that have crossed over. Each coven needs a human to participate, and this year I'm forced to help the Hex Coven, a group of sexy witches mourning the loss of their brother. They're determined to find his killer, curses and evil covens be damned.
Humans rarely survive the games, and I’ve accepted that I won’t make it to morning. Deciding to live this night like it’s my last, I enjoy all the pleasures that the Hex Coven has to offer.
Because to speak to the dead, first you must die.
I knew that a pairing of these two would be good! And I was not disappointed. This story is an interesting concept of the day of the dead. I mean a chance to talk to a loved one already passed, interest caught. Add in three hot witches, yeah I fell just as hard for them as Mila did. There is so much going on here, but it was easy to follow.
Starting off we are introduced to Camila, or Mila, she is on her way to put flowers on her momma's grave before the curfew for The Deadly Games. If you are are caught out after, you can be chosen against your will for the games. She is almost caught in a deadly trap by a vicious witch named Natalia. But she is saved, by another witch by the name of Luca. Turns out Luca is her childhood friend who disappeared after middle school. Thus starts a series of events that changes Mila's life forever. Will she be able to survive the games? What is this mysterious pull that she feels for the coven mates Luca, Bass and Matt.
As I said there is so much going on here. Luca, Bass and Matt want to do The Deadly Games so that they can contact their dead coven mate Stephan. Which I really wish we could have gotten to know, I somehow found myself missing him as much as they did. This tells you how good the writing was between these two. Mila missing her mom, oh yeah and trying to survive the trials for the games. Also she is trying to figure out why she is so drawn to the three witches. The hunt is also on for who killed Stephan.
This is a quick read, but packed with so much. If you enjoy these authors then you will defiantly enjoy this book. And can I say that the cover is just so stunning!! It fits the story very well. I also cannot wait to read more from these two. We get that in Eternal Soul, The Forsaken Gods Trilogy, coming soon.
