A Sky So Dark
E.M. Moore
Goodreads, Amazon
It's a...Reverse Harem
Macie Davenport’s life is over. The girl who has everything is reduced to an empty black hole of nothing they call Safe Haven Academy. It’s where bad souls go for reform, but end up getting worse until they’re shipped out to another “sheltered place” with an equally uninspired name. It doesn’t matter what they dress it up as, Macie knows places like this are for people like her—people everyone wants to forget. The screwed up part? Macie’s not bad. Torn with grief and living in a fantasy world? Yes. A psychopath? Not likely. Worse yet, she can’t forget. Not even a little. Not even trying with all her might, she’ll never forget the consequences of the night the sky turned dark. Then, they force themselves into her life. A shining light in the bleakness around her, three boys irrevocably change her fate. Can she allow the sun to shine through? Or will Macie give up before giving them a chance?

Sometimes, it takes losing everything to really appreciate what you had. Macie learns this lesson the hard way. Now she is stuck in an all girl school with a bad attitude. Rightfully so, considering the way she is treated. When she finally has a small amount of light show up in her dark world, she grabs it with both hands. Will she be able to hang on to it though?

Oh my ever loving goodness, this book. It was a little slow at the very beginning but it steadily picked up for me throughout. The not knowing, that's what really keeps you hanging on. Then that ending. Holy hell. This is legit what I sent Erin after I read it:
Omg! I just finished! How the hell am I supposed to wait for the next book!!!!! 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
(Sorry it's blue but it came from messenger and won't let me change it. lol )

So yea, I loved this book. Macie is a very strong character who has been through a lot. Something nobody should ever have to go through and it has changed her whole life. Not only by what she no longer has, but her overall outlook. Even though she needs to rely on others now, she's fighting for her independence the whole way.

We meet three guys in this book. They are all different and have struggles in their own way. They take right to Macie and you can't help but to feel for each of them. This is a slow burn so we don't have all that hanky panky going on.

We do somewhat find out what happened so we aren't left completely waiting on that. We are left with questions though and man, I'm dying here to find out what's going on. Definitely recommend this book.
