It's a...Reverse Harem
"Welcome to Half Death Academy." That's what they call my new school--because only half the students survive.
Rule #1: keep your head down and don't mess with the four gorgeous demigods who rule the school.
But they messed with me first. They expected me to bow down like all the other mortals, and when I didn't, they tried to make me pay.
Rule #2: When the demigods try to kill you, lie down and die.
But I never was good at following the rules. And when my forbidden power awakens, I'll make them regret they tried to make me their bitch.
Magic Trials is the first book in the Half-Blood Academy series, a reverse harem fantasy and bully romance starring four handsome and cruel demigods and the mortal who dared stand up to them. For fans of Shadowspell Academy.
I wasn't exactly sure what to expect when I picked this book up.
I hadn't read the blurb so I was just going by what I saw on the cover and the title.
Wasn't what I had in mind.
But that isn't necessarily a bad thing.

Marigold is....a human. At least that's what she, and many others, think.
But when she comes across a demon and a demigod, things become a little uncertain.
Though, being forced to attend an academy many have nicknamed Half-Death isn't her bright idea either.
She does it for her crew. Her only friends. To protect them.
Even when that plan is shot to Hell.
There were times I wasn't sure exactly what was going on.
It might have been because I was reading this extremely late, but it could also be because of how the characters are portrayed.
Some of the demigods are ancient and their tone of speech reflects that.
I have theories of who/what Marigold is.
We get a little bit of that toward the end of the book, but not enough to know for sure.
It will be interesting to see where book two leads us.
With the guys, I don't think we really got to see much of them.
Paxton is a jerk.
He is the main one we deal with in this book.
Though none of it is good.
Axel and Zak, while we interact with them, it isn't the same as with Paxton.
And Hector, well he is my favorite.
I can't wait to see how he unfolds into everything that's happened.
I think it was an entertaining book and I'm ready to see what the next one will bring us.
Book Two, Magic Secret, will release July 18th.
