It's a...Reverse Harem
Rich boys don’t fraternize with the help.
They don't torture the help.
They don't crave the help.
For as long as I can remember, my mom and I have lived on the edge of ruin, so when she finally gets a decent job offer, she moves us cross-country to take it.
Who cares if it means working as a live-in housekeeper for a man wealthier than God? The paycheck is good, and it comes with a roof over our heads.
She even manages to get me enrolled in the fancy prep academy his son goes to—the kind that spits out future CEOs and politicians like a vending machine.
But this new town has a few things my old one didn’t…
Like secrets that could get a person killed, and four of the hottest, meanest guys I’ve ever met.
I might live in their world now, but I am not a part of it, and they’ll do whatever it takes to remind me of that.
We go to school together, live together, and share a dangerous secret, but as far as Lincoln, River, Dax, and Chase are concerned…
I’m just the help.
***AUTHOR'S NOTE: The Help is a reverse harem high school bully romance, the first book in the Kings of Linwood Academy trilogy. It contains cursing and sexual situations.
Harlow's life is about to change. Her mom has gotten a new job across the country working for some ridiculously rich people. This gives Harlow the opportunity to go to a fancy prep school. New house, new school....sounds like things could really be looking up for her. Until she meets the Kings of Linwood. Four incredibly sexy, incredibly rude rich boys with a chip on their shoulder. They want nothing to do with Harlow other than making her life a living hell. Until they are put in a situation they have to rely on each other. Just when she thinks things could finally be turning around, she's hit with a blow nobody saw coming.
This is the first book I've read from Callie Rose. I'm all into the bully romance right now so I just had to get my hands on this one. I admit when I started the book I felt like I was reading any old bully romance. There wasn't anything really making it stand out to me. Until I got to about halfway through. Then things really started picking up and by the end, my jaw was hanging open and I was ready to hit something.
There are a few things that set this book apart from others once you get into it. Like the guys, they may be the reason she gets bullied and in the beginning they are the one's doing it. However, they end up not being the main bullies. This makes it a little easier to understand when Low starts to fall for them. You don't have some weak heroine who falls for some jerk treating her like crap all the time.
We also have a ton of other things going on. There seem to be so many secrets. It gives you more to focus on rather than just the guys and Low.
So yea, overall I really enjoyed this book. Yes it ends on a hell of a cliffhanger but most books do these days. And The Game is set to release at the end of August so it's not like we will have to wait too long to see what happens next. I definitely suggest you give this one a go.
