It's a...Reverse Harem
Dance is in my blood.
Once upon a time it ran through their veins too. Xeno, York, Zayn, and Dax.
The Breakers and I were a crew until bad decisions and circumstance ripped us apart.
Now the Breakers are back.
And they’ve brought trouble.
They’re not here at the Stardom Academy to dance.
They’re here on a mission for Jeb, the leader of the Skins.
He wants something, and me…? I’m just a pawn in their game.
To make matters worse, my psychotic brother wants something too.
I must befriend the Breakers and find out what they’re up to.
If I refuse, my brother will hurt the one person I love more than life itself.
I cannot allow that to happen.
Dance was always the cure to our pain, the foundations of our friendship and love.
It brought us together once before.
Can I go through the cycle of friendship, love, and heartache all over again?
Will I survive the Breakers a second time? Will they survive me?
**Lyrical is book two of this new gritty, contemporary reverse harem academy trilogy for 17+ readers and deals with adult themes and some subjects you may find upsetting. If you love dance, your men on the criminal side, alpha hot holes, and the friends-to-enemies-to-lovers trope, this is for you. Contains foul language and sexual scenes and ends on a cliff hanger.**

Breakers 1/11/21
I have to start off by talking about another AMAZING cover in this series. Freestyle caught my attention by scrolling through facebook and Lyrical is just as captivating. I seriously need some of these paperbacks in my life.
Now on to the story. Lyrical picks up right where that hellacious cliffhanger in Freestyle left us. In Grim's club with some really bad sh*t about to go down. Well, those of you who were worried about Pen being weak in the first book, look out. This girl is on FIRE.
Now of course I can't tell you too much about what happens in the book b/c spoilers and all. So let's do a run down of what I can tell you. While Freestyle flipped us back and forth from past to present, Lyrical stays with the present. We have a grasp now of what happened to tear them apart and now we can focus on where they all stand. While Pen wants to stand strong and keep her walls up, it's difficult. Some of the breakers want back in. Now that they aren't boys anymore, when they want something, well they go after it.
"I've only had two obsessions in my life. I'm dancing one of them and looking at the other"
Oh my heart, these boys. We get a look from everyone's POV in this book so we get to dig in and see how our guys are really feeling. It's not always how it seems on the outside. But even with their bond drawing them back towards each other, there is still a war raging within them all. There are still secrets being kept. The hardest thing of all is learning to trust someone again after they've broken you.
And we do end the book on another cliffhanger. However, this one doesn't have you screaming in the night and throwing your kindle across the room. It's nowhere near as bad as the first book.
I said in my first review that I love to watch dance. I am loving reading it as well. The way Bea describes these scenes, she puts you right there in it. She makes sure you can feel the emotion they are trying to portray. It's absolutely beautiful the way she writes it all.
I know I'm getting lengthy with this review so I'm going to wrap it up. I just want to mention really quick how this amazing author has captivated us with not only our main characters but the side characters as well. Clancy is an amazing friend to Pen and I don't know how she would have made it through all this without her. Then freaking Grim and Beast. There is a story there and I'm telling you, I am all in whenever Bea decides to write it.
I absolutely recommend this book. One of my favorite series this year. I know it isn't far away but I hope we don't have to wait until January to get Breakers b/c I need it now!!
