Lost Feather by Merri Bright

Lost Feather, (The Forgotten Angel)
Merri Bright

It's a...Reverse Harem
I’m no angel… or am I?
Nameless. Forgotten. Lost on Earth for centuries with a disembodied voice as my only friend. Protecting the vulnerable without any help from above. No one to explain the rules. Nada. Zip. Zilch.
So when High Angelus Gavriel finds me killing a very bad man, can he really blame me? Before I can explain, he drags me back to the place he swears is my home: Sanctuary.
Halfway between Earth and the Celestial Realm, Sanctuary would be paradise if it weren’t for the daily decontamination showers, hours spent carving the murder-marks off my skin to discover my true name, and thousands of prim and proper angels who tell me I stink. Literally.
I’m the dirtiest Protector they’ve ever seen, but I can’t stop fantasizing about Gavriel and his best friends. Those sexy-as-sin High Angeli don’t know what to do with me, but I have a few ideas. I just need to find out my name so they’ll see who I am deep down… even if I have a feeling I’m no angel.
But what happens when my name is revealed, and it’s worse than anyone ever imagined?
Lost Feather is a humorous, steamy romance that ends on a cliffhanger. Over the course of the series, the main character will end up happily soulmated with more than one of the guys. And possibly an angelic gate. This book is intended for adult readers and contains real and made-up profanity, explicit scenes, and references to past sexual assault of a sibling. Please take care of yourself when choosing to read.
The cover is what drew me to this book in the first place.
Then I read the blurb and I was like "WHAT?!" this sounds super interesting.
Once I opened the book, I was a complete goner.
Merri Bright is a fairly new author (first published work was in 2021) but is completely new to me.Then I read the blurb and I was like "WHAT?!" this sounds super interesting.

And I will say that she definitely went all in with this book.
She has spent her time as a guardian angel for her charges and taking on the sins of their betrayers.
Once she is finally discovered, she is recalled to Sanctuary to be purified and examined, only for things not to work out like they should.
For one, she has accumulated entirely too much smut (the sins of the accused) and those in charge not understanding how that is possible.
We also learn that Feather is a strong person who has overcome many difficulties yet remains selfless and with humor.
We know of four men who will possibly be in the harem (this is a slow burn guys be prepared!).
Mikhail. Gazriel. Righteous. Rumple (not actual name but what she has been calling him).
These men couldn't be more different from one another, but also exactly the same.
I instantly fell for each one.
I will say there is one thing I'm a little worried about, but hopefully future books will resolve the issue with a happy ending.

We've all read angel books.
Even fallen angel books.
But I don't think I have ever read anything quite like this.
The spin on such a classic trope is worthwhile and amazing.
Why must these authors torture us with such brutal endings?!
If I didn't love their books so much, I'd quit reading altogether (just kidding, I need reading for my sanity LOL).
But it made me desperate for the next book.
Luckily, it is out soon and we will get to see what happens next.
Highly recommend diving into this book if you haven't!
Book two, Fallen Feather, released August 24th, 2022.
Book three, Rising Feather, releases June 7th, 2023. Hopefully this changes and comes out sooner.
