The first and second books have been released under KU, this review will cover both books. Beware if you haven't read either book the review for "The Chosen One", will contain spoilers for "The Sacrifice". Don't say I didn't warn you 😇

Synopsis:
Airsha was born into a man's world often believing she and her twin born to the wrong genders. Women are only to be wives and mothers seen only by their husband, his OTHER wives and the children. This is a fate Airsha accepts will eventually be hers but inwardly she rebels. Her years secretly spent dressing as her twin brother training to be a soldier, fighting his bullies for him. Her "moxie" and inquisitive nature seems to privately amuse her father so she grows up cherished as the favorite daughter. While she accepts that her mother's fate will eventually if not soon be hers, she doesn't expect that her father will decide to sacrifice her in attempt to win favor from The Gods. She flees this fate hoping to find a quiet place to live her life safe from the threats that women with magic face. But fate has a sense of humor instead of fleeing the fate of take your pick: sacrifice, marriage into a harem, female castration (because of her magic) she finds four husbands. She finds a prophecy about her that would de throne her own father and change their world forever.

I was so happy with this surprising gem of a book. Airsha is a character that can sometimes frustrate you but overall is so awesome. There is a LOT of change happening for our female lead in this book. Her world is truly flipped upside down, what she thought was right is so wrong. She goes from never wanting to have male attention to wanting the attention of four. Speaking of the guys and the relationship, all I can say without spoilers is: WOW, YES! 😍

** Remember spoilers! *

Synopsis:
How life has changed for Airsha, husbands, baby on the way and a throne to claim. In addition a young teenager makes her way to Airsha wanting to join the fight. There is so much more to this girl though and on top of being rude and sullen she is taking way too much interest in one of Airsha's men. Fighting battles from within and from outside forces, Airsha and her men must learn to function as a unit and trust each other.

Overview:
While I really enjoyed the first book I LOVED LOVED LOVED this book! A new pace has been set, the game has changed.

I mean four new husbands, growing tummy, riders to train for the eventual fight with the Godling; throw pregnancy hormones into that and what could go wrong??? There is still some tension while everyone settles into the marriage, those pregnancy hormones do not help at all. But my favorite thing about Airsha is she womans up when she's wrong and admits it. Everything is changing and the supporting cast just gets better.
