It's a...Reverse Harem
Missouri Magic is a small-town shop in Piper's Crossing, Missouri. It offers a variety of services to the locals, such as coffee, donuts, pies, candles, crystals, tarot readings, and somewhere to turn when the spooks get a little too real. Granny June ran the place and could always be found behind the counter, greeting every customer with a smile and some wise, usually unwanted, advice. But when Granny June is found dead under mysterious circumstances, her notorious granddaughter, Tornado Rose, returns to town to handle her affairs.
But what does a diagnosed schizophrenic with the ability to see and speak to the dead do with the extremely odd inheritance? Granny June didn't just leave her the shop, she also left her with an old Victorian house, a ghostly sidekick named Jack, an evil cat, and a group of four handsome guys who are impossible to ignore.
Returning home means facing the expectations of its residents – both dead and alive – and the decision whether to accept the heavy burden that is her birthright.
Tornado Rose. With a name like that you know she's got to be interesting. She's stayed far away from her small town Missouri home since she was old enough to make it on her own. But when Granny June suddenly passes away, she has no choice but to go back. Even with all the things she had been through, she never expected the crazy ride she was about to walk in on.
I really enjoyed the start to this new series. This kind of book is right up my ally as it reminds me of Charlaine Harris's Harper Connelly Series. Tory can see dead people but she's been made to believe all her life that she's crazy. So much so that she's diagnosed as schizophrenic. So when she comes home for the funeral and meets so many people that understand her, she's not sure how to take it. She's introduced to a new kind of life and she has to make the decision to stay or go. While dealing with a couple problems the town has.
Then we have the four hot guys that have been living with Granny June. They may have their own agenda for being there but when Rose busts into their life they genuinely want to help her. This is an RH but it looks like it might be a slower build. There's no sexy times in this one but we do start to see the relationships build.
I gave this one four stars instead of five because there just weren't any moments that made me just WOW. I really enjoyed it and I think it could be a great series. I definitely recommend it.
