It's a...Reverse Harem
The four mighty, smoking-hot warriors had wanted to use Cass Saélihn as the weapon to kill the Olympian gods, but they fell for her instead. Now all they want is to protect her. So they hide Cass in the magically glamoured Academy, the only safe place for earthlings.
But Cass won't cower or run from danger. She sets her own rules and stands her ground, no matter how her blood heats for her alpha mates. She's determined to take the fight to the gods, not as a weapon but a leader.
Yet an all-powerful, beautiful, cruel god is already among them, much closer than she and her four mates can imagine. He covets Cass and her power more than anything, and when the god strikes, he leaves nothing to chance.
While I didn't enjoy this one as much as I did the first one, it was still good.
In the second book of the War of the Gods series, we pick up right where we left off.
Cass is needed to wake her vampire mate from his slumber.
Train to become the ultimate weapon, eventually destroying the Gods out to destroy them.
We learn a little more about Cass' background in this story.
Which God sired her.
More bad stuff happens.
But she does solidify her bond with all four mates.
There are some pretty steamy scenes in this one! :)
Cass seemed a little harder for me to like in this one.
Her attitude and dependence was a hard pill to swallow.
While in the first book, I understood where she was coming from, I thought after everything that happened at the club, she would reign in her need to make all the decisions.
She does "compromise" sometimes, but I don't think it was enough.
I'm not saying she needs to cower away and let the guys run her life, but she does need to realize they have MILLENIUMS of years on their side.
This story ends in a cliffhanger.
A pretty crazy one at that!
I'm excited to see what will happen in the next book.
Overall, I enjoyed it and I would recommend it.
