It's a...Reverse Harem
Sawyer Matthews is a retired and presumed-dead assassin. Ripped from her life of shadows and secrets, she’s decided to gamble it all and accept a new chapter in her life—one that may lead to a brighter future.
With the Amazon far behind them, Sawyer and her team have settled in for what should have been a relaxing time to themselves, in the privacy of their home. Their trust in each other has grown, and she’s finally accepted that they hold her secrets in confidence. As winter blows in over them, though, Sawyer finds herself confronted by darker thoughts. When she asks her guys for help, they jump at the opportunity to bond more deeply with her.
Unfortunately, their plans are quickly overshadowed by a dangerous conspiracy that could spell the end of not just Sawyer and her team, but the Magi community at large. Sawyer’s identity is exposed. Her life is at risk. Politicians are dead. The thrill of danger comes crashing down on the team once again. This time, though, the threat comes from a world Sawyer knows all too well. She’s the expert, and she intends on playing the game to the very best of her ability.
The person behind this has made a fatal mistake.
They didn’t kill her the first time.
"Eventually the jaguar's good mood began to bleed through
the bond stronger, as if it was being pushed. Sawyer even cracked
a small smile at the ridiculous cat.
Her human didn't want to talk about it, so Sombra saw
no reason why she should be sad. She couldn't erase
the sadness but she could cover it for a moment.
So that her human wasn't so sad when she
should be happy about this new stuff called snow"
Warning: If you like keeping your heart whole, don't read this book. Just kidding, kinda kidding... don't read while driving, operating heavy machinery or while you are in charge of tiny humans who haven't realized yet life isn't fair and some brilliant psychopathic authors enjoy ripping out their readers' hearts.
This series has been all about bringing broken souls together, healing them TRYING to and find happily ever after. We learn in this book life means there is no limit on how bad things can go, however I don't mean this in a terrible way. Yes sure we have taken a roller coaster with this series with Sawyer and the guys but what literary junkie isn't riding that roller coaster willingly? But my limits were tested, many gifs of threats, messages of "WHAT. HAVE. YOU. DONE?", were sent out. Did I love it?? YES. Riley and the Kingson men were my favorite of Kristen's books but this book pushed this series into a clear number one favorite for me. BUT STILL???

Anyway enough of my melodramatics...
So the team is back from the jungle, they've taken a well earned rest. They've overcome a lot of obstacles and all seems peaceful. Christmas is coming which brings up some sad memories for Sawyer because of her past, and of course she seems to be trying to bottle up those feelings at first but in a good twist she's growing and asks for help. Then of course life blows up ( I might mean that literally!), things are happening and a conspiracy is afoot. Sawyer, her guys and well literally the whole Magi community are in danger. As if it all wasn't bad enough Sawyer is fully exposed as Shadow. 😲😲😲 So yea.. there is THAT. Up is down, down is up; loyalties are questioned and no one can be trusted. Soon old enemies become allies and betrayal is definite. Will Sawyer, Jasper, Quinn, Vincent, Elijah and Zander make it out hearts and limbs whole? **please see below note**
Warning about my Warning: Please don't be scared off by my hysterics, a little hurt and drama had to happen for us to get the fantastic last book that I am sure is coming to us. Enjoy the ride!!!
