Dare You to Love Me, (Hawkridge High)
Serena Akeroyd
Goodreads/a>, Amazon
It's a...Reverse Harem
Jessa loves Sam, as does Drew. And Sam? Well... That's where things get complicated. There's a new boy in town. Troubled teen, Max, has been brought into the elite academy of HawkRidge High School by his father, a General in the Armed Forces. On his first day, he meets Jessa and she brings him into the fold of the captain of the football team, Sam, and the quarterback, Drew. These privileged teens aren't brats, though, and after a destitute childhood, Max expected nothing but brats at HawkRidge. What makes these three so unusual is the love he sees between them, and the more he watches, the more he wants that for himself. But every school has a mean girl, or in this instance, three. The Sarahs have it in for Jessa, and they're not afraid to go to any lengths to make her pay for stealing Sam away from one of their own. But when Max gets caught in the crosshairs, his new life is suddenly under threat. When a kid is taught he's bad, no matter what he does, he has only one option. Can Jessa stop him before it's too late? Find out in DARE YOU TO LOVE ME. This is a 55k word novel. YA Reverse Harem Romance.

This book ends on a cliffhanger, so be prepared to be upset with how it ends.
That's how I felt.
I was so invested in these characters I didn't notice that I was coming to the end until I saw those dreaded words....TO BE CONTINUED.
And it didn't leave at a nice and happy place.
Oh no, Serena just had to cut us off when it felt like Jessa's life was ending before it started.
Dramatic? Probably, but you'll have to read it yourself to find out if I'm right.

Jessa loves Sam.
Everyone knows this.
Heck, everyone can see it.
And Drew?
Well, his love is there for Jessa too.
Just not something many people think is appropriate.
It's why they hide it, even from Jessa.
But Jessa isn't stupid.
Max.
Max is who sets things into motion.
Inadvertently of course.

I absolutely loved this book.
From the moment I started reading, I was hooked.
Hook, line, sinker.
It wasn't like anything I'd read from this genre before.
I think that has to do with the fact that Jessa is in a committed relationship (and has been for the past two years) with only one guy but knows she (and Drew) feels something more for another.
Possibly even two more.
It was refreshing and curious to see how this played out.

While we see a lot of the dynamic of how the relationship works, there are still surprises to be held.
By the time you get to the end of the book, not much has happened in way of reverse harem.
But it is definitely coming.
And I can't wait.

There is some steam in this book, but not nearly as much as I would have liked to see.

Overall, it is a fantastic read and I recommend you to pick it up and give it a shot.
