Well if you haven't figured it out yet this is not a book filled with cotton candy and hugs. It is a dark sip of drugs, blood and gangbangs; so don't pick it up looking for the unicorn and skittle rain showers. Our characters may have once been young and sweet but betrayal early in life and the years after bred hard adults. If you haven't guessed this can obviously cause some triggers for some, physical and sexual abuse is described with medium level detail. But if you feel prepared for our girl Eden and the mafia men of her past, let's go!
Life absolutely happened to our main characters many years before where this story starts off. Back when our characters were all teenagers, Eden was in love and dating Santos and the others carried a secret torch for young Eden. The story starts in the strip club Eden is working in years after seeing any of them. Her high on hard drugs and the hard life she is living to survive between highs. She is rediscovered by Tony and Vanni in bad shape after witnessing something that endangers the brother's if she decides to go to the police therefore also putting her in danger, too. She is taken and slowly brought back to health while starting to encounter the men she left behind when they were all still young men. While the truths of the past start unraveling there is still a long road in front of all of them. Trust is a very hard thing to re establish and no one is certain of what comes next.
I completely fell in love with this story and look forward to the second installment. I don't mind things getting a little dark in my books sometimes the best stories are about how far we can fall and the grit it takes to claw yourself even halfway out of hell. The story ends on a cliffhanger but it does wrap up the first half of this story well, the cliffhanger is just enough to give you a hint on what direction part 2 is going to take. Ready to start watching the fallen Angel come back and dismantle four hard broken men's' worlds?
