The main character Mairin has been a member of the Ravensword pack
since she was found in the woods with no memory of her origins, with nothing with
her but a paper with her name. The book starts the day before her mate ceremony,
being bullied by her pack and hoping that after tomorrow things will be
different, she will no longer be the unwanted and unloved foster kid who lives
her life in fear of being abused and bullied by her pack mates. The day comes
but sadly she gets mated with the worst person possible, her biggest bully, her
Alpha. He wants nothing to do with this, and honestly neither does she. (he is
a real piece of work) The Alpha throws Mai into the sea to her death not
wanting her as his mate, she washes up on the beach and is saved by her pack’s
enemies the Alphas of the Fall Mountain Pack.
I don’t want to spoil the rest of this book, and this is
just the start of this amazing read, it immediately sucks you in wanting more
instantly, she meets the Alphas who save her life, but there is mystery still of
her origins and during this the secrets the Alphas are keeping and what is the
connections and what are these dreams.
This is a slow-burn so there is chemistry between the Alphas
and Mai. Her Wolves is a rejected mates series so there is the trigger to some
of the abuse from her pack and it doesn’t go away just because she leaves the
pack, so you know there is more abuse to come. Mai is one of those characters
you instantly love and want deep down for her to get her revenge on her
horrible former Alpha/Fated Mate and come back stronger than she was. I had
serious tears at parts of this book it really gets you. G. Bailey knows how to
make you feel for the characters. She brings you into this world and slightly
tear at your heart strings during the process.
I really loved this book and gave it 5 stars and I am beyond
excited for when book 2 comes out to see what will happen with her and the
Alphas, her new pack and the people of her old pack,
since this book did end with a cliffhanger I am dying to know what will happen
next!
