Killer Crescent, (Rebels and Psychos)
Leigh Kelsey
Goodreads, Amazon
It's a...Reverse Harem
If a secret wolf society thinks they can take me down, they’ve got another thing coming. There’s a reason they call me Graves. It’s not my fault I’m a psychopath. What else would happen to someone who witnessed her sister’s murder? Without magic in my arsenal like the rest of my family, I have to rely on other methods: sharp knives, stealth, and killer instincts. And hey, killing pays the bills. I’ve been a magical dud all my life, the black sheep of the Falcon witch line, but my family are liars. When I’m stalking my next victim under the blood moon, I sprout fur, sharp teeth, and a fuzzy tail. It turns out I’m a dual-blood, both a witch and a wolf, and now I’m on the radar of the Crescent Club, one of three ancient societies of witches, wolves, and vampires. I’m given two options: move into Blake Hall, a dark gothic mansion in the middle of nowhere, or get my power stripped. Luckily, I have five dangerous psycho mates on my side: dominant alpha Dean, insane vampire Slasher, sweet bookish Brannigan, my silent shadow Hugh, and cruel Edison who rejects me but can't deny our chemistry. Killer Crescent is a paranormal romance with psycho men, a badass FMC, twisted romance, and lots and lots of bloodlust. Secret societies, killer wolves, dangerous vamps, and cunning witches lurk in these pages, but all of them will meet the sharp end of Rebel Falcon’s knife. This book is medium burn, with moderate heat, and multiple love interests.

I've been recommending this book all weekend so it's time I finally got around to my review.

If you are fans of Harley Quinn, then this FMC is definitely for you.

And can we talk about this cover?
It's what initially drew me to pick it up.
I've been all about psychos and murders for a while now and looking at this cove, I had a feeling it would be right up my alley.
Boy, was I right.

Rebel, also known as Graves, is not like she appears.
Many see the bubblegum pink hair, the bright blue eyes, and assume one thing.
However, that is their downfall.
There is so much more to her than meet the eyes.
Not many know about her alter lifestyle and she wants to keep it that way.
Until a night of a full moon seems to change all that and she is sent to live in a place where those with unpredictable magic must stay until they are deemed worthy to be back in society.
Rebel figures she can plan the roll of innocent young girl long enough to prove she isn't a risk to her or the other paranormals around her.
But it seems someone else has other plans for her and her life is now a game of staying alive.
While also meeting her multiple mates and blasts from her past.

Going into this, I didn't realize it would be a paranormal book (didn't read the blurb).
But I kind of feel like that makes it a little bit more interesting.

There are currently five men in the harem.
I'm not sure if there will be more or not.
And not all of the bonds have been set into motion so far.
There are two wolves, two vampires, and a witch.
Dean, also known as Sexy sir, is a very dominant wolf as well as a blood-thirsty one.
Slasher, who is a weirdly adorable insane vampire.
Hugh, the silent stalker wolf.
Edison, who has known Rebel the longest and rejected their mate bond in the beginning but seems to be regretting that now or is also a witch.
And Brannigan, co-founder of Blake Hall and also a vampire.
Each of these guys bring something different to the table, even if we haven't quite seen what all that might be just yet.

This story is pretty fast-pace.
Plot wise and romance wise.
Though technically she's only been intimate with one.
The others are trying their best to find their place within the harem and Rebel's heart.

Looking over the blurb now, I'm a little confused with the tagline at the beginning.
Not sure what the secret wolf society has to do with anything.
Maybe we will find out later?
Because this book ended on a major cliffhanger; however, that ending didn't lead me to believe it had anything to do with wolves. More like witches.
Hopefully in book two more will be revealed and we will see more of the mate bonds forming completely.

Highly recommend reading.
I've already been recommending to others and will continue to do so.
Book two can't get here fast enough.

Book two, Blood Wolf, releases on December 20th, 2021
