The Lost Elemental, (Royals of Kingwood Academy)
Tessa Hale

It's a...Reverse Harem
It was supposed to be simple. Graduate, get a job to keep my mom from drowning in mountains of medical debt, and maybe score a scholarship to a decent college.
All of that changed in a single breath. Because it turns out I’m not human. And I just knocked out the power on an entire city block.
In a split second, all of my carefully-laid plans go up in smoke. There’s no chance for college because I’m being hauled off to Kingwood Academy. They say it’s for my own protection and those around me. But I know one thing for sure…
I’m not welcome here.
The mean girls don’t stop at insults and tripping you in the halls. They’re wielding magic that could cost me my life. And the rest of the school sees me as either a halfling that should be cast out or a powerhouse to be brought down.
Everyone except them.
The charmer. The gentle giant. The psychopath. And maybe even the cruel prince.
The royals of Kingwood Academy have taken me under their wing and I can’t help but notice how my skin hums when they touch me. I shouldn’t be dreaming about a single one of them, let alone all four. But I can’t seem to stop myself.
Only someone doesn’t like the attention the royals are showing me. And when the attacks start, the princes will do anything to protect me. But they don’t know the true evil we face. The kind who will do whatever it takes to seize our power, even if that means stealing the very last breath from our lungs…
*Book one in a continuing three book reverse harem series. Think fated mates, crazy powerful elementals, a heroine with no idea what she is, protective royals, and an evil who wants all their power...
This book is EVERYTHING!
Aura is mandated to test with all the seniors to see if they have enough elemental powers that subjects them to attend an academy to learn control.
Aura knows she doesn't have any powers and thinks the whole thing is a waste of time.
However, that turns out not to be the case for her.
She is actually very powerful and causes a power outage at the facility.
Things only seem to go down hill from there.
She's attracted the attention of the royal princes which in turn sets a target on her back from the mean girls and those who wish to see her fail.
Aura's goal is to learn to control her magic and go back home to the human realm and her family.
And possibly find a little love on the way.
If only it was that easy.
Holy moly.
Where do I even begin with this book.
I was instantly hooked with these characters and this plot line.
It isn't that different from most of girl not realizing how powerful she is and meeting those she is fated for, but that doesn't matter.
The execution of this is flawless.
You immediately sympathize with the main characters and want to see them have their happily ever after.
Aura has done everything in her life to help her mother out.
Her medical bills from when she was younger caused serious debt to her mother and Aura fills guilt for it so she works to help pay them as well as pushing away her scholarship to stay close by.
Aura will have four mates in this series.
We know who they are pretty quickly but only three of them are on board.
Kai is the prince of Kingdom of Torrent, a water elementalist, who is a major flirt but those smiles hide a lot of pain. Pain caused by a severe betrayal at a young age.
Phoenix is the prince of Kingdom of Ash, a fire elementalist with some air thrown in, who is a bonafide psychopath. Because of things that happened in his past he releases he aggressive and excessive powers in the form of killing those who need justice.
Atlas is the prince of Kingdom of Terra, an earth elementalist with air and some lie detector powers as well, who is a gentle giant. Everyone takes one look at his size and immediately jumps to the conclusion that he is just like his father, a cruel person.
Finally, we have Riven who is the prince of Kingdom of Zephyr, an air elementalist. Riven is your typical brooding rude boy though if I grew up with his father I'd probably be the same way.
Each of these boys bring something different to the table for Aura.
And she desperately needs each of them to help her with control.
This book ends on a major cliffhanger.
Be prepared to yell at your Kindle, possibly even throw it.
It's that upsetting. LOL
I absolutely adored this book and I can not wait until the next one releases.
I'm ready to see how things will play out.
Especially after seeing how this one ended.
It is going to be one crazy ride.
Book two, The Last Aether, releases October 5th, 2022.
