Darkness Bites Full Series Review By Nicole Marie

by - Tuesday, June 20, 2017

Warning: I am going to do my best to cover the full entirety of this series without revealing too many spoilers for anyone who hasn't read A Bitten Curse or A Pull of Moonlight but there will be some small ones on both books if you keep reading reviews for each individual book! You've been warned!

Warning Numero 2*: This series is definitely for readers 18+ these are not the books you read and share with Mommy or your teenage daughter. This is a slow burn Reverse Harem Series before we get into the RH Charlie our main female character is a bit adventurous sexually so.. YOU'VE BEEN WARNED.

*Warning Numero 2 is equally a warning and a promise of some epic titillating sexy time scenes.

"A Bitten Curse" and "A Pull of Moonlight" are already available on KU "A Promise of Protection" will be released June 21st also available through KU Subscribers

Synopsis:
Charlie had just one job when coming to London (insert #youhadonejob) and she failed. Her team is missing presumed dead and she is different. After surviving a vampire bite she is irrevocably inexplicably mentally linked to the vampire who bit her, Erik. She loves angering this creature who has forced her into hiding ending her life as a Chicago police officer. Instead she is lonely drinking to mute and anger her Slave Master and finds out that "associating" with shifters makes him extra angry! But are things what they seem? Of course not!

First impression, "Wow what a wild ride!". That was a very fun introduction into a new series there is drinking sex and revenge all wound into our first few chapters all in the same scenes! Charlie is such an endearing female lead to me because while she really got served a crappy deal and acts out a bit she's real. When she is exposed to the reality of her situation she doesn't fail to pull her big girl panties up and admit she maybe didn't take the time to fully take stock of the situation.

Synopsis:
Charlie is at a cross road she's finally feeling back to her normal self and is falling fast and hard for our lovable James. But the new enlightening details that Erik is making himself a martyr to save Charlie pain weighs heavily on her. There is no good choice here ..

So again I really love Charlie's character, she has flaws but she really knows how to brazen her way through a really cruddy situation. James keeps pulling us in with his down to earth awesomeness but this book is really devoted to Erik and a lot of his backstory. I'm not going to give it away but the readers will be ready to love Erik. The ending is a little abrupt but in reading the first three books it seems to be the writers style for this series. The end is devoted to set the stage for the next book.

Synopsis:
Charlie is taking a much needed vacation with James to recover from helping Erik. While she starts to feel better she is reapplying herself to investigating after what happened to her team and a lot of troubling info comes up. The age old worry of who can you really trust in a world where enemies are actually allies and those who are supposed to be your ally party with your enemy? And where the heck is Erik?

Overview:

So this is the book that fully commits me to the series. We are seeing a full plot build and so many plot twist it is so scrumptious. James is staking his claim to Charlie but accepts he might not be the only one she cares for. We also learn a LOT about what happened to Charlie's team. "A Pull of Midnight", readers are asking how is this a Reverse Harem at the end, but wait for it... A huge plot twist that had me in the crowd screaming "A Big Standing O!!! (pun intended)

But I will also say.. "James you've got some explaining to do!"
