Overview:
Captain Calpurnia is her own worst enemy after a lifetime of hurts but she's going to have to use some WD-40 and unhinge that giant chip on her shoulder. Even with the room for improvement in learning how to deal with her emotions, she is truly is a badass. Maybe she's spent so much time with men she processes her feelings like one. 😆 Can you tell Ms Calpurnia and I have some love hate feelings going? No worries, I have high hopes for full recovery.
Basically a bunch of space cowboys are gearing up to end a war and Calpurnia is in charge of the lot, believe me she is very thrilled, VERY thrilled. I do love all the characters even when the jerk is being a jerk he is doing it from a sensitive place of being allergic to bullshit, Calpurnia is going to have to earn that one's respect. An old wound gets poked pretty much in every chapter and just when she is ready to maybe MAYBE let it heal, the stupid wound goes and re injures itself. But no worries perhaps Calpurnia will find a way to fix it all so everyone can go about their business and oh I don't know ..go win a war? So I did enjoy this book a lot but I'm not a fan of super drama so that is why this book ended up four star for me, I think this will get better as things settle through the series and the nice slow burn gets a little bit warmer but this will be a good read for almost anyone. Everything is in it you need. Awesome female lead with some trust issues, assorted man candy chaos of all personalities and backgrounds. Our villain is good and evil, kill your puppy just because evil. This is just the tip of the iceburg and the book is so much more than this review or its blurb.
