It's a...Reverse Harem

Maeve Crawford has her life mathematically calculated down to the last detail; Leave her podunk Arizona town, graduate MIT, get into the space program, be the first woman on Mars, read lots of books, get a cat (not necessarily in this order). All Maeve’s careful plans come crashing down when her parents are killed in a freak accident, and she discovers she’s inherited a real, honest-to-goodness English castle – complete with turrets, ramparts, and four gorgeous male tenants. Corbin – the protector wallowing in guilt Arthur – the warrior tired of fighting Flynn – the trickster with an artist’s soul Rowan – the enigma whose scars run deep As soon as Maeve enters Briarwood, she’s drawn to Corbin, Arthur, Flynn and Rowan – four beautiful boys drenched in grief, hope, and ancient magic. Maeve needs them all to heal her broken heart, and they need her to help them protect the world from the fae host baying at the castle gates. Dark forces converge on Briarwood castle, and Meave Crawford – science geek, scarred soul, lover of four remarkable men – must draw from herself a power she never imagined in order to protect the shattered remains of her life.

Briarwood Series:
The Castle of Earth and Embers
The Castle of Fire and Fable ( coming soon)

Maeve Crawford ( aka Einstein) has a plan.  A plan that is well mapped out and is just forty- three days from putting her plan into action.  After all she lives her life in a mathematical way. It's tough being the only science nerd in Coopersville, Arizona.  Having graduated school two years early, she had been taking advanced physics classes at the community college.  For Maeve's 21st birthday, her parents and her sister Kelly take her to the Coopersville County fair.  Things were going good with some sugary goodness, when things take a bad turn.  A freak accident takes the life of her parents.  Even though they were not her real parents, they adopted her at an orphanage in England, she loved them with everything she had. Maeve is also reeling from the news that her carefully planned escape to the MIT college fell through.  Right when things seem hopeless, a letter arrives from England. Apparently she has inherited Briarwood Estate from her birth mother.  It also comes with four tenants who have lived there for many years.  Feeling like she has no other option, Maeve travels to England to her new home.  There she is introduced to a beautiful estate, magical even.  A place that holds secrets, and four sexy men who would do anything to protect her.  Corbin, Rowan, Flynn and Arthur are not ordinary men, they are special.  And Maeve is about to be introduced into a world of magic, Fae and learn that there are things that go bump in the night.

The Castle of Earth and Embers was such a fun read.  Ms. Holmes has created a world of witches and fae that captures your attention.  We have our main female lead Maeve, a mathematical wiz, who analyzes everything.  Her mind works differently, processes things on another level.  This is where I had a few issues with her, she was so skeptical of what was right in front of her face. But that is just how she processes things. Once I got used to that I could understand her better.  She has a lot to deal with and things to learn.  Her humor had me cracking up, and seriously if you are any kind of nerd you will get a kick out of her.  Now the male leads, each one is different in their personalities, looks and powers.  But they all want her, and want to protect her.  Chemistry is strong between them but in my opinion grows as the story goes.  There is attraction there, but I really feel them connecting more as the story goes.  I loved the guys POV's.  And then there is Blake, for some reason I really liked him.  Maybe because I like the whole bad boy, bad guy.  Overall, I think it is mathematically possible for this to be a hit series.
